This art deco table lamp or bedside light was designed and manufactured in germany in the 1930s during the bauhaus period. The light features a sculptural bakelite base in a rich reddish-brown / chestnut tone with stepped art deco detailing, supporting an arched bronzed brass arm that cradles a cream-colored shade. The globe shade is made of opaline glass, designed to softly diffuse light while maintaining a clean, modern silhouette. A small push-button switch is integrated into the base, and the fabric-covered cord adds to its period authenticity. This piece reflects the streamlined, machine-age aesthetic characteristic of german art deco lighting from the 1930s. The light has been rewired with new fabric cord. It requires one e26/e27 bulb. It comes with a continental european 2-pin plug and adapter for use in us.
