An elegant antique neoclassical table lamp, France , early 20th century, incorporating an earlier late 19th-century bronze base. The lamp features a richly decorated circular base with classical acanthus and palmette ornament, a turned baluster stem and a central section decorated with three figural mask head motifs. The surface has a beautiful aged bronze patina with natural verdigris, giving the piece a refined antique character. The design recalls French Empire and Grand Tour Revival decorative arts, with its classical vocabulary, sculptural base and mythological mask decoration. It works beautifully as a table lamp on a console, side table, desk or bedside table, especially in interiors mixing antiques with contemporary or understated furniture.
