Quezal Art Glass & Decorating Co., founded in New York City by former Tiffany employees Martin Bach Sr. and Thomas Johnson, was renowned for its high-quality art glass. Bach, born in 1865, began his career at the St. Louis Glass Works in France before joining Tiffany as a glass chemist. In 1901, he co-founded Quezal with Johnson, employing many former Tiffany workers. Since Quezal operated for a short time (1901-1924), its glass is rarer than Tiffany or Steuben glass, making it highly collectible.
