A very stylistic urn from the Art Nouveau period that was repurposed into a lamp. A ceramic urn with a burgundy and cream glaze was mounted with bronze fittings. The fittings are very organic with grape designs and wavy lines like water. The urn rests on an elevated bronze pedestal and a bronze butterfly finial. There are no marks or labels except for the harp, which reads BERGER PAT’D. MEASUREMENTS 27 1/8” (68.9 cm) tall x 7” (17.8 cm) wide x 5” (12.7 cm) diameter. Weighs 5 lbs 10.0 oz (2560 g) CONDITION The lamp works. There are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. The cord is probably from the 1930s or '40s, but is in very good condition. The lamp has no lamp shade. A great dramatic lamp made from an Art Nouveau lamp. I love the wings coming up at the neck of the urn. It’s as if it were soaring upward. A must for the collector of Art Nouveau.
