Iconic 1st edition, model 233, Atollo table lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977 for Oluce Italy. This masterpiece of modern design is one of Magistretti's most acclaimed creations, which earned Magistretti the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1979. This version in rust-brown coated aluminum finish was an experimental surface treatment that Oluce discontinued shortly after production, due to not meeting their quality standards. As a result, only a limited number were ever made, making this version highly coveted by collectors. This beautiful lamp is sculptural in its elementary forms. A cylindric base that ends in a cone with a half of a sphere shade. The shade seems to maintain its balance on top of the base. This amazing lamp is in very good original condition and gained a remarkable patina. No dents, no damages.
