Belgian Art Deco Flambé Glaze Ceramic Table Lamps, 1920s, Set Of 2

Chairish

$2,151

Glazed in a flowing flambé that pours from a cobalt-blue collar down through cream, oxblood, and chestnut into a deep aubergine foot, this pair of Belgian baluster vases has been mounted as table lamps and topped with new pleated silk lampshades in sand. No two passages of the glaze are alike — the enamels were poured to run and pool as they fired, so each vase carries its own drift of color. The vases come from the Faïenceries de Thulin in Hainaut, the Belgian pottery known from the 1920s and 1930s for exactly this kind of running enamel work. Each base is impressed with a model number and the export mark "Made in Belgium." Newly wired for U.S. use; international plug customization available at no charge. Height includes the shade. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
