This unique brutalist table lamp dates from the 1970s and is crafted from solid bronze. The design is characterized by a powerful, almost architectural shape, where two robustly modeled elements converge in an open circle. The bronze surface is richly textured and shows subtle traces of the artisanal process. The cord runs recessed through the center of the base, enhancing the sculptural character and visually balancing the design. The base rests on a wide, weighted base and is sturdy and stable. The lampshade is crafted from an organic material, likely natural hide, and has a soft, semi-transparent texture. When lit, the lamp emits a warm, diffused light that beautifully softens the robust character of the bronze. The lamp has been carefully cleaned and technically inspected in our studio.
