Stunning brutalist table lamp made from cast aluminum. This lamp was made by belgian goldsmith Willy Luyckx for a belgian company called Aluclair. Willy Luyckx was a goldsmith who worked for goldsmith Camille Colruyt before starting his own business in the 1960s. Under the name Aluclair he produced a hole range of items in this style, all made in this burned aluminium; ashtrays, candlesticks and more than 10 different lamps such as this one. The Aluclair company was active in the 1960s and 1970s. Willy Luyckx, originally a goldsmith, is known for his typical designs of objects and lamps made of burnt aluminum. The construction of this lamp base has a special finish, the base is built with copper and brass, the burned aluminum is silver-plated. Both lamps are numbered, number 3 and 4.
