The most monumental pair of Capodimonte Lamps I have ever seen, probably from the 30’s or 40’s judging from the reticulated brass bases they are mounted on. The designer of these pulled out all the stops—the urn shapes are decorated with colorful caryatid handles, the tops with gold leaf and interspersed heads of Roman Gods, the sides depicting musical celebrations, the base with spotted leopards, curlicues and more Roman faces. A tour de force of Capodimonte art, they stand 32” tall to the top of the harps; the urns alone are 19” tall and 12” across at the handles.
