This highly decorative, solid bronze chinese moonflask in han dynasty style, has beautifully patinated to a deep verdigris green. The flattened sides have applied taotie masks holding ring handles, raise up from a rectangular pedestal foot. The vase has been converted into a table lamp at some point in its life and the pedestal foot sits in a stepped wooden base. This is a very large and incredibly heavy lamp - weighing in at a hefty 28kg, as shown photographed on the scales. There are two bulb holders fixed to a central brass column that has a small screw on the side to enable the height to be adjusted to suit your chosen lampshade, and an elegant ball finial to finish.
