He developed a talent for drawing and creation very early on and was the youngest student of his time to be admitted to the School of Applied Arts at the age of 13.Master goldsmith, Serge Mouille learned the art of modeling metal with a hammer thanks to his mentor Gabriel Lacroix and worked for several goldsmith houses in Paris. It was his meeting with Jacques Adnet, director of the Compagnie des arts français, that would mark a turning point in his career.In 1951, Jacques Adnet commissioned Serge Mouille to create a “large light fixture” for his South American customers: the first three-arm floor lamp was born.
