This very rare table lamp was designed by Helge Østerberg and made in his own studio in Virum, Denmark in the 1950s. The base is signed “Ø” and faintly stamped “Denmark” on the rim of the foot. The striking design consists of a drop shaped base in turned ceramic glazed in blue and black shades. The round recesses throughout give the piece a beautiful, dimpled texture. The tapered clip-on lampshade has been renewed in a smooth, ivory colored fabric. The lamp is in very good condition with minimal wear consistent with age and use and a renewed shade. Currently with 220V wiring. Item dimensions: Total height including shade: 14.57 in (37 cm) Height of only the base (excluding shade): 11.22 in (28.5 cm) Diameter of the shade: 11.81 in (30 cm) Diameter of the base: 4.92 in (12.5 cm) This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
