Vibrant Dutch Gouda pottery lamp made from a rare large Flora “Tokio” décor (c. 1968–77) vase, with glossy fiery orange glaze, black graphic linework, and a new custom gold-lined black linen drum shade. Professionally wired with a new socket and fabric-wrapped cord; supplied with a US plug or adapted for your country of use. Height includes lampshade. This bold table lamp is composed from an original Tokio pattern ceramic vase produced by Flora Gouda in the Netherlands, circa late 1960s to 1970s, a period when the factory embraced bold, graphic surface design aligned with international modernism. The vase has been carefully converted into a lamp and paired with a newly made custom lampshade, creating a sculptural lighting object that bridges European studio ceramics and contemporary interior design. The ceramic body is defined by its vivid fire-orange glaze, layered with matte black linear motifs that wrap rhythmically around the form. The decoration is emblematic of Flora Gouda’s late-modern output: abstract, architectural, and deliberately graphic, with strong horizontal banding and calligraphic symbols that feel both mid-century and subtly postmodern. The saturated orange glaze has a molten, almost lava-like depth, while the black ornamentation provides sharp contrast and visual structure.
