Chinese Kangxi period cobalt blue and white porcelain Prunus or Hawthorn pattern ginger jar mounted as a lamp, the background being the classic cracked ice pattern. The pierced wood stand and lid or cover are hand-made. It was probably fitted with hardware to function as a lamp in the early 1900s and was most likely sold through Tiffany’s because the bulb fitting is marked Hubell and Tiffany only used Hubell along with the acorn pull chain. The height is adjustable for the shade to 1.5″. It has been newly electrified with brown silk cord.
