Table lamp in wood & wrought iron. French mid-century Neo-classical table lamp by Jean Maurice Rothschild (1902-1998) circa 1960, a renowned designer and craftsman, he studied at the Ecole Boulle in Paris in 1917, created the decor for the Eiffel Tower restaurant in 1937 and designed the furniture for the Normandie liner, among others. JM Rothschild made a series of furniture with this gargoyle-like figure: lamps and tables. Sold without the shade, height measured without the bulb. Good condition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
