This rare table lamp was designed by carl-harry stålhane and produced by rörstrand in sweden in the 1950s. The piece is signed with the designer’s initials chs and the rörstrand logo on the underside of the base. the base is finely thrown in a rounded, bulbous form with a gently tapering neck. It is executed in ceramic with a richly variegated crystalline glaze, where soft mossy greens shift into muted celadon and earthy grey tones. The surface has a subtle mottled depth with natural firing variations and scattered crystalline precipitates, giving the piece a highly tactile, organic finish. the lamp is fitted with a newly made tapered shade in pale cream colefax & fowler silk fabric. the lamp is in very good condition, with renewed wiring, a new e26/e27 bulb fitting and a renewed shade.
