Offering a pair of Mid 20th Century Modern white porcelain Japanese table lamps, circa 1960s. These lamps were completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, and replaced with New brass sockets, New brass harps, New brass Chinese finials and New clear electrical cords. Designer/Decorator ready. LAMP SHADES NOT INCLUDED These striking Japanese Mid-Century Modern lamps illustrate the simplicity and minimalism of Japanese porcelain design of the era. The front of the lamps show white and red cherry blossoms on brown branches. The main vignettes are on the front of the lamps with some smaller vignettes on the neck and around the sides. The backs of the lamps are quite minimal in design with only one cherry blossom branch. The white flowers are sounded by a thin red line and have gold detailing in the center. The red flowers are surrounded by a thin gold line and also have gold detailing in the center. The flowers and the flower buds are lyrically placed upon the brown cherry tree branches. The overall design reflects the Zen like quality of the Japanese culture capturing its serenity in these lovely minimalist red, black and white lamps. EXCELLENT RESTORED VINTAGE CONDITION. PLEASE NOTE: There are some manufactured defects of the white glaze slipping near the base as shown in the photo with the blue arrows. These glaze slips are common on vessels that have many lobes or sides....very minor and hardly noticeable and mentioned only for thoroughness.
