1 of enormous Doria hand blown glass sphere on brass base lamps, Germany, circa 1970. This exceptional artefact of modern design reflects the extreme interest in modernism across Europe during this period. This unique lamp not only functions as light source but also as a sculptural component. The sphere was purposely created to be filled with random bubbles and pockets of air within the glass that capture and refract light from the interior bulbs to demonstrate its handcrafted origin. When the sphere is removed the lighting structure is revealed showing four brass colored lamp holders with E27 sockets with brass colored mirror head bulbs of different heights along with an arrangements of solid brass spheres also at various heights. Heavy quality and in good condition. Cleaned, well-wired and ready to use. (The mirror head bulbs are included). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
