This is an absolutely fabulous, hand painted continental porcelain vase that was converted to a lamp. The painting on the front is exquisitely executed and looks like an oil painting with a scene of a woman side saddle on a horse with a goat in the countryside by a stream or a lake. The background color is a wonderful royal blue and the handles are scrumptious, with acanthus leaves and gold gilt. The lamp was repaired on the top back at one time and the over paint must have faded with age and is now noticeable but most of it is easily hidden with the back against the wall, there is wonderful gold loss throughout the lamp, the painting has bubbling to the finish and the harp has been replaced. The dimensions to the top of the vase is about 21 inches, to the top of the finial is 34 1/2 inches, and the width to the outside of the handles is about 10 1/2 inches. We will make sure all of our lighting is in safe, working order before sending it out.
