Mid 20'th C. Kutani Chinoiserie table lamp with carved wood vase and cap. Wonderfully tall for reading or adding light on an area. More than likely this was converted from a vase. the body is hexagonal with gently tapering shouldersand a wide neck. It is decorated in rust red or iron redoverglaze with fold highlights. Floral designs of chrysanthemums and peony floral motifs. The background glaze is white with a slight celadon blue cast. The neck and base have a Greek Ky and petal lappet borders, typical of East Asian porcelain designs form late 19'th to mid 20'th century. The lamp sits on a custom carved wooden stand. To the top of the socket is 28". The harp can be of any size and the shade can be replaced if needed. .
