Mid 20th Century Marbro Harlequin Figural Table Lamp – Restored & Rewired

Chairish

$1,100

Vintage Harlequin figural table lamp by The Marbro Lamp Company, rendered in painted plaster/chalkware after René de Saint-Marceaux’s classic “L’Arlequin" sculpture. The masked jester stands confidently with arms crossed on an integral square base modeled as wood planks, wearing a diamond-pattern costume in soft sky blue, cream, tan, chocolate brown, and antiqued gold—an iconic mid-century palette with theatrical flair. This example has been carefully restored with respect for the original surface. The vulnerable edges of the hat, which had prior losses, have been rebuilt and touched up, and the plaster base has been stabilized and refreshed so the lamp presents cleanly while retaining its honest age and patina. Throughout the figure you’ll see small touch‑ups, scattered paint losses, light craquelure, and surface wear typical of cold‑painted chalkware from the 1950s–1960s. For safety, the lamp has been newly rewired with an updated E26 socket and cord and is in excellent working order; ready to plug in and use. A contemporary silk drum shade in a soft yellow tone (approx. 12" H x 20" W) is included and suits the scale beautifully, giving the Harlequin a bold, graphic silhouette when lit. This sculptural Marbro piece makes a strong focal point on a console, bar, or bedside and is ideal for Hollywood Regency, eclectic, or theatrical interiors. Height to top of finial: 36.5" Base: 9.5" W x 9.5" D x 1" H Shade (included): approx. 12" H x 20" W
