Pair of Danish Mid-Century Modern Stoneware Lamps – 1960s Height 77cm and the height of the stoneware 51 cm A unique pair of large handmade stoneware lamps from Denmark, made in the 1960s. The shape is bold and sculptural with a strong Brutalist feel – thick, rounded forms with a large central opening that gives them real presence. The glaze has beautiful depth, with shades of green, brown, and yellow blending into each other in a raw, almost volcanic texture. Each lamp is slightly different, which really shows they were handmade. We don’t know the maker, but they clearly come out of the great Danish design tradition – where materials and form are given equal attention. These work great as floor lamps or table lamps, and add a serious dose of mid-century character to any modern interior. Rare to find as a pair. Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
