Mid-century modern walnut table lamp by Modeline with enamel and burlwood panel detailing, designed by John Keal in 1959. The open walnut frame gives it that light, architectural silhouette Modeline did so well, while the inset panel adds a really unexpected pop of color and texture. The enamel has this almost lava-glaze look with saturated oranges, blues, and olive tones floating across the surface, contrasted against the warm walnut and burlwood backing. Tall and narrow with a long cylindrical shade, it has a strong vertical presence without feeling bulky. One of those lamps that reads sculptural even when it’s turned off. No makers mark.
