Renowned for combining elegant proportions with technical innovation, bergström created lighting that balanced architectural clarity with warmth and functionality. Alongside his work for ateljé lyktan, he also designed a number of distinguished models for asea, many of which are now highly sought after by collectors of scandinavian modern design. about asea belysning founded in 1893, asea (allmänna svenska elektriska aktiebolaget) became one of sweden's leading electrical manufacturers and developed an outstanding range of domestic lighting throughout the mid-twentieth century.
