Monumental Murano Glass Table Lamp By Adolf Loos For Veart, 1970s

Chairish

$6,407

Large 50cm VeArt Blown Glass Sphere Lamp, Wire Cage, Space Age Italy Monumental table lamp, designed by Austrian architect Adolf Loos and manufactured by the Italian glassmaker VeArt in the 1970s, bridges the gap between early 20th-century modernism and 1970s design. The lamp features a massive (50 cm diameter) hand-blown Murano glass shade in a translucent opaline white finish. The glass is blown directly into a metallic nickeled cage, creating a soft, organic "pumpkin" or spiral shape where the glass gently protrudes through the wires. It rests on a sleek, black wooden base. When illuminated, the opaline glass diffuses a soft, ambient glow, highlighting the architectural lines of the metal frame. A true statement piece of sophistication, seamlessly complementing modern, mid-century, and contemporary interiors. This vintage lighting piece is exceptionally well-maintained and in good vintage condition. The nickeled metal cage shows some natural patina consistent with age (see photos), adding to its character. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
