One Of Two Huge Chandeliers Kalmar 'Tulipan', Murano Glass Brass, 1970s

One of two extra large and fantastic light fixtures model Tulipan HL 155 by J.T. Kalmar, Vienna, Austria, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1970 (late 1960s or early 1970s).Two lights are available. Please make an inquiry for details.The name Tulipan derives from the tulip shaped hand blown bubble glasses. Each glass is handmade and therefore a unique piece. In total there are 155 clear, hand-blown Murano glass pieces which are mounted with brass bolts on a white painted metal frame. The diameter is ca. 35.4 inch / 90 cm and the height of the body without rod is ca. 14.6 inch / 37 cm. The current overall drop is ca. 31.5 inch / 80 cm.The lamp has 28 sockets for small Edison screw base bulbs or LEDs E14 (max. 40W per bulb).It is possible to install this fixture in all countries (US, UK, Europe, Asia, Canada,) although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It also can be used with a dimmer.Light bulbs are not included. The lamp is in very good condition and ready to use.The light is documented in the Kalmar catalogue from the 1970s.Kalmar had a cooperation with several Italian glass makers located in Murano (e.g. Mazzega, Venini) and got the glasses from there. Several other European companies like Orrefors (Sweden), Limburg and Hillebrand from Germany, and Arredoluce, Silnovo, Fontana Arte from Italy used hand blown or textured glass for their lamps in 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
