Innolux’s Otso is a sculptural table lamp created by artist and sculptor Björn Weckström, bringing together the expressive character of Finnish design and the skill of master artisans. Otso’s soft, atmospheric light glows through a glass cube mouth-blown by Finnish master glassblower Kari Alakoski. Shaping a single cube can take several days and the steady hands of multiple professionals – each piece emerging as a one-of-a-kind glass artwork with its own organic textures. The cube’s delicate presence is grounded by a weighty, pillar-like marble base, crafted by Finnish stone specialists. Only 90 numbered pieces of the Otso lamp have been made, giving it the rarity of a true collector’s item. This celebratory edition pays tribute to Björn Weckström, born in 1935, and to his nine decades of exploring materials with fearless curiosity and blurring the borders between art and design.
