The Parola Table Lamp from FontanaArte brings together three distinct glassworking processes within a single composition. Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni developed it in 1980 as an exploration of how artisanal and industrial glass techniques could be combined into a single coherent object. The tinted paste glass diffuser is glossy and blown, set above a transparent bevelled glass base, with a borosilicate glass frame connecting the two. A braided fabric cable and black dimmer complete the piece, and the light output is diffused and dimmable.
