The PostKrisi T 61 Table Lamp from Catellani & Smith is a wondrous body, casting away darkness with ethereal light. Catellani & Smith’s goal for this and every design is to give shape to light. Here, a pair of separated domes are arranged to suggest a moon-like globe. Like the moon, these handcrafted and molded fiberglass shades carry a deeply textured surface that intrigues on close examination. The domes appear to float by slotting atop a skinny metal stem and compact base. When turned on, the sculptural domes disperse a cozy, textured light.
