Rare Pair - Vintage Marbro Amethyst Art Glass Table Lamps, Mcm, C. 1960s, Brass Base, 58.5" Tall
Chairish$4,950
A rare and striking matched pair of monumental table lamps by the Marbro Lamp Company of Los Angeles, dating to the 1960s. Each lamp features a large hand-blown art glass body in a deep amethyst / purple colorway — one of the rarest colors in Marbro's production. The form is a classic oversized orb base transitioning into an elongated slender neck with a flared collar, mounted on an original patinated brass cone base. The glass is thick, luminous, and exhibits the organic irregularities characteristic of genuine hand-blown production. The lamps are fitted with a purple art glass sphere finial (likely period, though provenance of finials is unconfirmed). Wiring and hardware are updated, intact and functional. Marbro Lamp Company, founded in Los Angeles in 1934 by brothers Morris and Elliott Markoff, was the premier supplier of Hollywood Regency and MCM lighting to interior designers and celebrity clients. Each lamp took 75–90 days to produce. The company ceased production in 1990 and is no longer in operation, making vintage examples increasingly collectible. Height: 58.5" total (to top of finial) | Shade not included Condition: Very good vintage condition. Some light wear to brass base consistent with age. Minor surface dust. No chips or cracks to glass. Priced as a pair. Will not separate.
