A hand-painted Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) vase, converted to a table lamp and fitted with a green-and-white ikat shade. The base carries the "parsley," or millefleur, pattern — a dense scatter of small cobalt-blue flowers and foliage covering the whole surface, a Delft design that traces back to the Chinese export porcelain of the Ming and Kangxi periods that first inspired Dutch blue-and-white. Royal Delft has painted it by hand since the 17th century; De Porceleyne Fles is the last of the original Delft potteries still working, founded in 1653. The shade is where the lamp turns unexpected. It's a hand-pleated silk-and-cotton ikat, hand-dyed and woven by artisans in Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley, in a bold "Lemongrass" green and white. Custom brass fittings at the neck and a new fabric-wrapped cord complete the piece. The vase was converted without drilling or permanent alteration, so it stays intact as a collectible. It's newly wired and ready to use; we'll fit the correct plug for your country at no charge, and the listed height includes the shade.
