Blue-Green Delft Delvert table lamp made from a hand-painted vase by Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles), the last of the historic Delft potteries still working today. Delvert is Royal Delft's rare green line — the name folds vert, French for green, into Delft — a soft blue-green developed by the Dutch painter Herman Sanders and hand-painted under a tin glaze. The color was hard to fire without losing its hue, so the factory produced it only briefly, in the late 1960s and 1970s, which makes green Delvert far scarcer than the blue-and-white Royal Delft everyone pictures. The tapering bottle form shows the decoration at its best: a scrolled cartouche around the belly, foliate sprays, and a banded neck, all in that unmistakable green. The shade is new, made to order from Liberty of London's Hera Plume jacquard in slipper pink — an Italian-woven, piece-dyed weave whose feather motif and warm blush deliberately offset the cool green below. The vase was converted without drilling or permanent alteration, so it stays intact as a collectible.
