Important 70s design lamp, Sappho by Angelo Mangiarotti. Murano blown glass lamp and chromed steel base, Artemide production, 1967 and early 1970s. The Sappho table lamp is counted as exclusive lighting. The aluminum base supports the Murano Fumé Murano mushroom mushroom lampshade. The glass is blown by mouth in two colors and in a single piece. The Sappho lamp creates a fantastic effect of ethereal light. Diffuser consisting of 2 spheres: one transparent with lattimo white spots, containing a white blown glass sphere. Original electrical system, its condition is excellent. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
