This sculptural table lamp was designed and produced by niels preben larsen in his own workshop at sjællands odde, denmark, in 1967. The lamp is signed “npl sj. Odd 5/67” on the underside of the base. the sculptural design features a tapering stoneware body set on a flared base with a radially lobed form. It is finished in a flowing glaze in deep brown and black tones with subtle tonal variation. The glaze follows the sculpted contours of the body, while the lower part of the base is left unglazed, revealing the warm brown stoneware. The lamp is paired with a custom gently tapered drum shade in cream colefax and fowler silk. a larger version from the same design series is also shown in the listing images. This listing is for the smaller version. The two can complement each other beautifully as a pair. the lamp is in very good condition with renewed 220v wiring, a new e26/e27 bulb fitting and a new custom shade. The ceramic body shows very minor signs of wear. specified dimensions total height (including shade): 58 cm / 22.83 in height of the base only (excluding shade): 40.5 cm / 15.94 in diameter of the shade: 30 cm / 11.81 in diameter of the base: 23 cm / 9.06 in this piece has an attribution mark, i am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, european plug (up to 250v).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
