Seguso Green Murano Glass Table Lamp With Bronze Ormolu Mounts, Circa 1960

Chairish

$3,500

A striking hand-blown Murano glass table lamp made by Seguso for The Marbro Lamp Company, dating to the 1960s. The richly colored body exhibits a distinctive baluster form with vertical ribbing in brilliant emerald green glass that fades into a bronze mount at the center, producing a luminous optical effect. The blown glass body is elegantly capped by a mushroom-form glass collar and supported on a squared bronze base with a squared plinth and applied laurel-motif ring. A gilt ring above the shoulder visually links the design. The lamp retains its original twin-socket cluster and pull chains, indicative of Marbro production. This model reflects Marbro’s tradition of marrying Italian artisanal glassmaking—likely from the Seguso Vetri d’Arte workshop on the island of Murano—with American Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century Modern aesthetics. The ribbed glass technique, known as costolato, and the precision in the blown form are hallmarks of Venetian craftsmanship. Cluster with Marbro lamp company label, as typical for Seguso-Marbro collaborations, but consistent with documented examples. Measurements: 45 inches high (to top of finial), 8.5 inches wide (body), 6.625 inches deep (base).
