Small white glass table lamp by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte Model 1853, Italy. Listing is for a single lamp although a pair is available.Originally named Model 1853, this beautiful and timeless lamp was designed in 1954 by French decorator and master glassmaker Max Ingrand for the Italian manufacturer Fontana Arte. Max Ingrand has been the artistic director for Fontana Arte for 10 years and during this period he has created several iconic lighting designs. Later, this lamp ‘1853’, was named ‘Fontana’ as a tribute to the company Fontana Arte. The ‘Fontana’ lamps are made of frosted white blown glass and stand on a white metal base. There are two small E14 lightbulbs in the base of the lamp and 1 E14 lightbulb inside the glass lampshade. The base and the lamp shade light up independently from each other so that the base can be lighted by itself or both the base and shade be lit. Price listed is for a single lamp. Pair available. These lamps are on display at the Gallery at 200 Lex at the New York Design Center.
