Table Lamp Attributed To Ernest Igl For Hillebrand

Chairish

$717

A rare lamp attributed to German designer Ernest Igl, designed for the Hillebrand brand, is a unique example of modular and multifunctional lighting from the post-war modernist period. Made entirely of lacquered steel, the lamp has retained its original lacquer, which significantly increases its collector's value. The body rests on two slender legs, and at the back there is a metal hook that allows the lamp to be hung on the wall, transforming it into a wall lamp. The characteristic oval shade with adjustable angle is covered with irregular perforations, which, when the light is turned on, create an interesting play of light and shadow, subtly diffusing the light and emphasizing the industrial character of the lamp. The lamp combines industrial aesthetics with minimalist functionality, being both a functional object and a design object. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
