This is a variant of the well-known Karl Trabert lamp, manufactured in 1933 by Schanzenbach & Co. in Frankfurt am Main. This particular model was made by the BAG Bronzewarenfabrik Turgi and was still featured in the 1960 catalog of the Swiss Werkbund, "Living Today 3," under number 42 007. The lamp reflects the aesthetics of modernism under the influence of the Bauhaus. Scholars point to Trabert's active exchange with the German avant-garde and attribute this design to him as well.
