Designed in the early 1970s for Old Timer Ferrari, the “Toucan” table light by Enea Ferrari represents one of the most emblematic examples of playful Italian plastic design. Its stylised bird form—red sculptural body, yellow base, cream beak and circular contrasting eye—captures the optimistic spirit of the decade while maintaining a clear functional purpose. Conceived originally as a children’s lamp, the piece has since become a celebrated icon of early post-modern humour in lighting. This well-preserved example highlights Ferrari’s ability to merge colour, form and practicality into a single expressive object. A perfect accent for design-driven interiors seeking a sculptural, lightweight and collectible statement. Very good vintage conditions with signs of age visible upon close inspection (small marks; the use of an overly hot bulb caused some darkening of the neck and a slight deformation of the red body). Compatible with an E14 bulb; European wiring. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
