Chairish

$5,973

Nice playful pair of adjustable table lamps designed by Gino Sarfatti and manufactured by Arteluce, Italy 1962. Sheared off sphere-shaped reflector in polished aluminium simply supported on an iron weighted base in painted finish black. Round weighted base in lacquered aluminium. Adjustable table lamps which can be used to create a playful setting, or to lit something specific like a spot. These lamps were highly popular in the sixties, when chrome lamps in the space age setting were on high demand, Sarfatti was one of the first who designed similar lamps already in the fifties, only few years later they became utterly popular and he created variations on earlier designs. Lamps use an E27 bulb up to 100 watt each. The lamps are in fantastic condition, mostly scratched and dented which these are not. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
