Vintage french ceramic lamp with russian motif by jacques blin (circa 1950s). This very large, stunning lamp created in the south of france (vallauris) incorporates blin's characteristic sgraffito-etchings. On its surface you will find a series of russian-inspired images, most likely st. Basil's cathedral (and perhaps other buildings too), in red square encircling the body of the lamp. Its background is off-white with very subtle hints of hues on the warmer spectrum. It is accented by the darker, misty patches so characteristic of blin's pieces. It is exquisite, tactile and oozes vintage charm. In good overall condition. Highly collectible. The lamp has been re-wired with uk plug but you may have it easily adapted to your location. Signed on the underside: 'j. Blin'. Contemporary lampshade is included. Upon request a video of the piece may be provided.
