A vintage carved alabaster table lamp featuring a turned baluster form, spiral-fluted collar, and stepped square plinth base. Executed in solid alabaster with pronounced natural gray veining throughout, the lamp exemplifies the neoclassical forms that remained popular in Italian decorative arts during the mid-20th century. The lamp is presented with a new pleated kraft paper shade, whose crisp architectural profile offers a contemporary counterpoint to the classical silhouette. When illuminated, the translucent alabaster softly diffuses light through the upper turned elements while the paper shade produces a warm ambient glow. This example works comfortably within a range of interiors, including Classical Revival, Organic Modern, European Country, Belgian, and Transitional spaces. It also layers well with Scandinavian and Postmodern interiors where natural stone and restrained forms are favored. Retains its original Underwriters Laboratories inspection label and has been tested in working order. Very good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age.
