Vintage table lamp by rotaflex from the 1950s. This lamp has a tripod base in metal with a neck in brass. rotaflex was founded in 1953 by bernard stern who ensured that the company became one of the most prominent in great britain in just a few years. Rotaflex has received several awards including the coveted if design award in 1957. the type of plastic used to manufacture the lamp was invented by rotaflex in collaboration with the french company arp – l' atelier de recherche plastique. The arp was founded in 1954 by pierre guariche, michel mortier & joseph-andré motte and ceased operations just 3 years later. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
