Spherical Venini glass table lamp is hand blown in white Filigrana cane work that spirals around to create extra movement. Filigrana is a classical glass making technique developed in the sixteenth century on the Venetian island of Murano. Over the centuries, this technique became a kind of trademark for the Murano glass industry. Parallel threads in a loose spiral winding around the lamp shade from top to bottom. The early 1960's lamp creates a warm atmospheric light and has a swirl-shaped brass handle that leads the electric cord to the back and sits on a brass base.
