ARNOLD is a round table made of marble, wood, and metal.‎Three geometric shapes (a line, a plane, a volume) and three materials (metal, wood, marble), utilizing the technique of 'tapering,' take the form of a solid tapered column complete with connections at the base and top.‎ This forms a stable truncated-cone base with a convenient surface, characterized by a rounded, thinning edge.‎The various combinations of the three geometries and materials are enriched by some dimensional variations, and through the study and refinement of their overall proportions, they take their definitive and complete shape.‎ Here, the elegant metal column, which defines and resolves the connection between the top and base, becomes the distinctive element of the project without overshadowing the others.‎
