A minimalist tribute to the Rococo-inspired baluster, a motif deeply rooted in Brazilian architectural heritage, the Ceramic Baluster Table by Bruno de Carvalho reinterprets a classic form through a contemporary lens. Entirely crafted in stoneware ceramics, the collection is the result of a meticulous collaboration with ceramist Alice Felzenszwalb, produced in her Rio de Janeiro studio. Each table is composed of three independently molded and high-fired components—a flat surface, a sculptural leg, and a connecting element—fired at 1170ºC to achieve the density and resilience of stone. Offered in two heights (stackable for layered compositions) and three ceramic tones—Egypt, Morocco, and Siberia—the tables explore the natural richness of their material in both glazed and matte finishes.Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the collection balances historical reference with material innovation, delivering a sculptural object that is at once decorative and functional. With its architectural silhouette and artisanal depth, this piece elevates the ceramic medium into the realm of collectible design.
