Doge Laguna

In close collaboration with Tobia Scarpa, son of the maestro, Cassina presents the Doge table, designed in 1968, in a new limited edition of 50 pieces called Doge Laguna to celebrate Carlo Scarpa's addition to the Cassina iMaestri Collection.‎The ripples of the Venetian lagoon emerge in the extra-clear glass top of the Doge Laguna table.‎ In an homage to the ancient art of glassmaking, the reflections of the waves are recreated in this new finish through elaborate workmanship.‎ The glass sheet is sandblasted to create opacity and then annealed, a process that creates the distinctive rippled effect of the top, resulting in a textural and wavy pattern.‎The elegance of the glass is further enhanced by the bevelling of the top, this workmanship carried out on the perimeter thins its contour and gives shape to a transparent crystalline frame, a sophisticated detail that creates a contrast with the central part of the table.‎ Available in two dimensions, Doge maintains its iconic sculptural steel base which enhances the architectural character of the table.‎Authenticity guaranteedWith the inclusion of Carlo Scarpa among the iMaestri, this table bears the logo and signature of the author, a guarantee featured on all the products in this collection, numbering from 1/50 to 50/50 for this limited edition, together with its progressive production number.‎
