Inspired by the Sacred Ceiba trees in Havana, Joao Faria created the stunning Roots Console Table for contemporary homes. It is handcrafted using carefully selected wood veneers, metals, and materials. Many consider this piece a work of art, like a sculpture. The Roots Collection includes coffee tables, mirrors, desks, and screens. Each piece is handmade by order, so we can manufacture it in endless combinations.This piece is entirely made in Portugal and artisanally by the author. Its manufacturing process is time-consuming because, among other complex operations, every wood insert is drawn, cut and fitted on the metal structure without machinery. After the final wood shapes are ready, the tabletop is assembled and crafted using carefully selected wood veneers with natural patterns or a lacquered finish. The author carefully hand-selects the wood veneer leaves from a single tree for their precise grain and colouration. After that, he bookmatches them to achieve the best result in the piece. The final finish on the wood is a varnish to enhance the wood's natural beauty. The Console Table Roots is finished with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in exceptional craftsmanship due to long hours of delicate construction.The metal structure supporting the tabletop, which appears to be floating, is made from very thick and resistant steel, stainless steel, copper, or brass, depending on the final version of the console.This listing is for a console mastercrafted from carefully white lacquered wood and a thick stainless steel structure, polished by hand. This console, with its polished stainless steel finish, takes longer to manufacture than the brushed or "Industrial Chic" styles because the polishing operation is very time-consuming and requires several work steps for the surface preparation.However, we can manufacture it in customised options: Tabletop: It can be in different lacquer colours or wood veneers, such as ironwood, black oak, tineo, and ebony macassar. The wood finish can be matt, satin or high-gloss.Structure: You can choose between stainless steel, copper, brass, or lacquered steel. Stainless steel, copper, and brass can be finished in three different ways: polished, brushed, or in an "Industrial Chic" style. The author also hand-made the "Industrial Chic" style, making every piece truly unique. The lacquered steel can be any RAL colour. In all versions, the console has two discrete drawers in a different wood veneer, which adds a surprising touch. For extra security, the console must be nailed to the wall.
