Table With Thorns In Steel Xvi From Early Light

$3,180

Chairish

Indirect light, back light and reflections change the sculpture itself - shadowy contours, clear light edges and surfaces can be combined in countless variations. Unlit, the light surfaces cast seamlessly into the surfaces manually worked with various techniques. These works were inspired by the 'early light' - the flat backlight with its shadowy crack-like backlighting and the translucency of the objects in the foreground. In the course of the day, weak, shadowy light slits become hard contours; light, back light, and shadows change form, shape, and mood. Each sculpture is handmade, signed, and numbered. The surfaces are also manually processed and thus have slightly different structures, characteristics, and color nuances, even within editions. The illuminants - LEDs of different types - can be exchanged for all sculptures. The operating time of the LEDs is up to 50,000 hours (compared to a light bulb: 1,000 hours). The steel is rusted (fixed). The LEDs are dimmable in 3 separate groups - 2 groups of thorns and an indirect light at the bottom can each be lit separately.
