A hand painted majolica asparagus plate made by Salins in the late 19th century, in the Salins-les-Bains region of France. The plate has four white asparagus with purple tips, laying on a bed of green leaves surrounded by a yellow basketweave and a turquoise scalloped rim. The plate includes a sauce well and is numbered on the back by the painter.
